You're heckling. You truly need not waste my time with these antics. Do you not have your own bidding problems to worry about without adding to mine?
no subject
Of course not. My own bidding is just as automated as yours.
[So he's free to be as much of a menace as he pleases, because he's not going to stop anyone from bidding on himself.]
no subject
Well, do not try to win. I am not taking you anywhere, even if you do.
no subject
Ah, I see. In that case, I'll just have to take you out somewhere if I happen to win.
[He's not planning on making a concerted effort to win - as fun as that might be to get Lorenz's hackles up - but a bid here and there over the course of the night isn't out of the question. So if he happens to win... well, then he happens to win.]
no subject
[There was no chosen day. He's busy on all of them. Do not question this because he is busy, his schedule is packed. For example, on Tuesdays he stays home and no one bothers him.]
no subject
[Or, more likely, bribe her to tell him. Probably also bribe her into getting Lorenz all set up and willing to go out before pulling a switcheroo. If he wins. Which he isn't honestly intending on.]
no subject
[Too busy to betray him, they have a sacred Golden Deer bond... So there!!]
Sylvain. We are well past the age of petty rivalry. [totally what this is] Let us put this childish behavior behind us.
[Specifically, bidding on him for laughs. Stop that.]
no subject
[He's pretty sure he can find something to bribe her with. Would it be worth it? Probably not.]
Mm... you're right, Lorenz. [Less petty rivalry and more... getting amusement at his expense... (subtle distinction) but even so...] Then any further bids of mine will be with the full intent on sweeping you off your feet, if only for a night.
[And there's that signature wink and winning smile of his, right on cue. He still doesn't really intend to win, but... at least the bids aren't just for laughs anymore? Small victories?]

[The thought of Sylvain being earnest about this thing sounds so far-fetched to Lorenz, he genuinely believes he is still being messed with. What the fuck, Sylvain. He's so unimpressed...]
no subject
[He's hurt! Hurt!! That Lorenz thinks he wouldn't be earnest about this!
...Okay, it's really not that much of a stretch to think he wouldn't be, so he does let his voice pitch to something a little more serious.]
Lorenz, I really would enjoy taking you on a proper date, believe me. You're gorgeous, and good company, I'm not so foolish that I can't see that.
[And with the date auction as a pretense, he wouldn't have to ~break his heart~ afterwards. Not that he actually thinks Lorenz is that fragile.]
no subject
And yet you are fool enough to try... whatever it is you're doing.
[Classic Sylvain moves (tm)? Maybe so.]
Are you going to tell me next that you remember some nonsense about me being part of your house at the monastery? We are not old friends, Sylvain.
no subject
He does have working eyes, though, it's true.]
And yet I am fool enough to try to win your company for an evening, yes.
[Kind of. Casually attempt to win, anyway.]
I am not. I... am aware of the discrepancies in some of our memories, but you did not join the Blue Lions in mine. And if I did not join the Golden Deer or, worse, the Black Eagles in yours, then I have all the more reason to... hm... perhaps... offer the sort of friendship that we should have had, back at the monastery.
[What wonders some... weird kind of self-respect(?) respect-of-alternate-self(?) can do for the impression of someone.]
no subject
Regardless of whatever designs on civility you may have, there will be no "company for an evening." I want that to be perfectly clear.
[He can agree to step one: be civil in public, but he can do only so many impossible things in one day, so that is the limit.]
We have never seen eye to eye. Frankly, I don't anticipate that will change. But I am not one to refuse an earnest overture of... friendship.
